The reason for this blog?
Well lets say I have a lot of ideas about life and it seemed like a good idea to record some of those ideas where I can share it with the world.
So on my first post I will give a short description of the very basic me.
I am a South African Afrikaans speaking white male.
First born to Willie & Wilna (Lourence) van Zyl in Oct 1970 with younger brother Riaan and still younger sister Belinda. My parents where farming on a small family farm called "Leeukraal" with the postal address "Plekkie in die son" close to Morgenzon. (Loosely translated: Leeukraal - Lion enclosure, Plekkie in die son - Place in the sun). In my second school year we moved to Bethal where we stayed until I finished matriek (St10 or Gr12).
1989 started working for Atlas doing my apprentice ship as aircraft auto-electrician.
1991 I qualify in my trade and complete my N6 Diploma.
1992 do my national service at 5 air depo Waterkloof Airforce base.
1993 started working for Eskom at Kriel Power station as an operator.
1996 started as an Instrumentation Technician in training.
1998 finished my Diploma at Pretoria Technical Collage.
1999 started working for Ramtech systems as automation engineer.
2001 moved to IT solutions which was bought by AST which later merged with Gijima.
2005 got tired of the traffic and city haste and moved to Columbus Stainless for a maintenance position in Middelburg Mpumalanga.
2010 moved to Assmang where I currently work as a Senior Instrumentation Technician in a Foreman position.
Thats me in a nutshell! :-)
